Steve and my father were first cousins (his mother Evelyn, who I don't remember, was the sister of my grandmother Elsie Evans Richardson). I do remember meeting Uncle Burr when I was a teenager. Somewhere I have a picture of him with my family on a hike in the North Carolina mountains. I also met Steve on a few occasions and my father Don Richardson always thought highly of him. My father passed away 7 years ago this month and my mother last May. I miss them both terrible as I am sure you do your father. My condolences to you both.

Sharon & Laura sorry for your loss. I've known Steve for the last 5 years when he visited us at Helping Hands Respite Care to join us for lunch. Sharon, I met you when Steve brought you one time as a guest and we enjoyed a lively conversation! Steve was so knowledgeable about a variety of topics. We have missed him since he stopped coming for lunch

I've known Steve since we were both members of the "Friendship and Food Co-op" in the early 1980's and later got to know him through our shared membership in the Greater Lansing United Nations Association. I joined Steve on its Board of Directors after he'd been serving for many years.

Steve's had a very long history with - and a positive effect on - the Greater Lansing United Nations Association. He was a GL-UNA member for decades, an at-large Board member, President of the Board of Directors, and a Board Member Emeritus. Steves legacy will continue in each "World Friendship Day that GL-UNA provides for local children as we educate them about the world and the United Nations. He will be honored as we continue our multi-year "Adopt-a-Future fundraiser campaign to provide classrooms for children in refugee camps through the UNHCR. Steve advocated for us to take on these very ambitious tasks - and many others through the years - and supported us in their implementation. Though we will miss Steve Osborn, his message will continue to be heard.

I have only gotten to know Steve in the last few years while serving together on the Greater Lansing United Nations Association Board. I have greatly appreciated his willingness to serve on committees and share his insights, hopes and concerns for the wider world. As former director of Church World Service - Michigan Division, I was also aware of Steve's ongoing financial support of the international work of that organization. Thank you Steve for your tireless caring efforts and support. May you rest in the arms of God.

My sincere condolences to the family may you find comfort in the God of all comfort during this difficult time.

For some 40 years I have known Stephen Osborn, a kind and supportive mentor, who was instrumental in the work to create the most usable and free-flowing space at the Grove Street location of the Unitarian-Universalist (UU)Church in East Lansing. In the last few years I have had the privilege of taking Stephen to the new UU church facility during the construction and later to occasionally attend services. I am interested in reading his recent science fiction novel if anyone can direct me to a copy.

Farewell to a fine man. He cared deeply about affordable housing and many more societal issues. Rest in peace, Steve.

I've known Steve Osborn as a thoughtful advocate for creativity and peace, who often spoke fondly of his daughters.
With his interfaith advocacy and community planning efforts, Steve's legacy of caring community connections lives on.
