Vincent Guarnaccia Obituary

Dr. Vincent Thomas Guarnaccia

Mason

Our heavenly father called Dr. Vincent Thomas Guarnaccia home to be with him on Tuesday, November 17, 2015.   He was born on April 19, 1933 in Willimantic, Connecticut to Giacomo and Rose (Ferro) Guarnaccia.  Vince heard God's calling to study and practice medicine at an early age.   He married his loving wife, Virginia on July 6, 1957.  They started their family and his medical practice shortly afterwards. Dr. and Mrs. Guarnaccia made Mason Michigan their home for over 50 years.  Vince and Ginny were blessed with nine children, 27 grandchildren and 4 great grand- children over 58 years.  Feeling compelled to serve God's people beyond his medical practice, Vince studied for 3 years to become a Deacon for the Catholic Church.  He was ordained in 2000. He remained dedicated to his faith, his family, and his patients throughout his life.

Vince was preceded to heaven's gates by his wife of 50 years, Virginia, his brother Salvatore, his sister Rosario Insalaco, and his parents, Giacomo and Rose Guarnaccia. He leaves to cherish his memory 9 children; Thomas (Lisa) Guarnaccia, Rose (Sterling) Massey, John (Karrie) Guarnaccia, Michael Guarnaccia, Joseph (Melody) Guarnaccia, Anne (Richard) White, Vincent Guarnaccia,  James (Lisa) Guarnaccia, Karen (John) Terry.   27 grandchildren Sarah (Vicky), Shannon, Brianna and Derek Massey; Angela, Andrew "AJ", Anthony (Shannon), Aaron, Alyssa, and Autumn Guarnaccia; Gina and Dominic Guarnaccia; Talia, Megan, Lexis, Taylor, Jacob, Kaleb, and Rachel Guarnaccia; Virginia and Jared White, Andreas and Alesandro Guarnaccia; Owen, Olivia, Luca, and Gianni Terry. 4 great grandchildren; Landon, Atticus, Keaton, and Logan. Vincent was blessed to marry Barbara in 2012. They quickly became soul mates and spiritual partners as they experienced life together.  Vince leaves Barbara with the cherished memories of their time together and the family that has come to love her.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 1010 S. Lansing Road, Mason, Michigan 48854 with Fr. Kusitino Cobona presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 2525 W. Willow Street, Lansing, Michigan, 48917. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 621 S. Vince visited us one day so many years ago and asked us to take over the migrant ministry that he had begun. That gave us so many wonderful opportunities to be of service to the migrant families, especially the children, in Onondaga.

Our deepest sympathy to the entire family. Getting to know Vince & Ginny so well in the time we lived in Mason, has always been a special blessing we received. I had a knee replacement 8 days ago which prevents us from being there with all the family. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
