Joe Waters Obituary

Joe D. Waters TULIA-Joe D. Waters, 57, died Friday, April 26, 2013, in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013, in the Tulia Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. Rusty Gray, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Vega Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013, at the funeral home. Joe was born on August 14, 1955, in Amarillo to Garner and Evelyn Waters. He lived in several towns in the Panhandle including Amarillo, Slaton, Silverton, and Tulia. He had lived in Tulia for 35 years. He married Billie Ewers on May 29, 1995, in Tulia. He worked for Tulia Livestock Auction for 20 years and for Wes' Specialty Service for seven years. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Rita Waters and Gail Baggett. His family includes his wife, Billie Waters of Tulia; his children, Christall Waters of Lubbock, Crystal Merritt of Tulia, Stormy Waters of Lubbock, Gloria Johnson of Tulia, Amanda Glasscock of Lubbock, Charles Newbold of Ruidoso, N.M. and Mikel Mason of Ruidoso, N.M.; one brother, Garner Lee Waters Jr. of Amarillo; one sister, Pam Gamble of Kress; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter.
