Michael Menasco Obituary

Michael Don Menasco LUBBOCK-Michael Don Menasco was born on Oct. 25, 1971, in Lubbock, Texas, to Jack and Donna Menasco. Michael graduated from Texas Tech University in 1996, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2000, and became an ordained minister in 2002 in Tulsa, OK. He was currently serving as Executive Pastor at Crestview Baptist Church in Midland, Texas. He married the love of his life, April Cagle of Amarillo, Texas on Sept. 13, 1997. Michael passionately loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family, and those he was called to serve. With Christ as the center and focus of his life, Michael honored his parents, was the knight in shining armor to his wife April, and will forever be a hero and example to his children Kylie and Brett, just as his father Jack was a hero and mentor to him. Those who knew Michael knew that he could often be found with his family at his side, a Coke in his hand, his dog, Stevie Ray at his feet, and something delicious cooking on his grill. While Michael leaves behind his precious family and friends, he also leaves behind a legacy of a life well lived. He leaves behind an example for all of how to walk faithfully with God, unconditionally love a family, and sacrificially serve others. Well done, good and faithful servant! Michael is survived by his wife, April; daughter, Kylie; and son, Brett; parents, Jack and Donna Menasco of Lubbock, Texas; brother, Monte Menasco; niece, Allison, and nephew, Seth of Lubbock, Texas; father and mother-in-law, Anson and Sue Cagle of Amarillo, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, David and Monica Holmes; and nephew, John-David, and niece, Ashlyn of Amarillo, Texas. He is preceded in death by his sister, Teresa-Marie Menasco and his grandparents. The family received friends on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, Texas. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Crestview Baptist Church in Midland. The family would like to express their gratitude towards the staff, family, and friends of Crestview Baptist Church and Midland Classical Academy. It was truly his honor to know you and serve you. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crestview Baptist Church Forward by Faith Building Fund. Contact the church via email at [email protected] or call (432) 681-8200. Michael was such a active part of Crestview. He was always scurrying about on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. He truly was a man after Gods own heart. Always helping others and doing Gods work. He will truly be missed. I know you are a family of tremendous faith and God through His mercy will carry you through. I can still see him preaching for Bro John with a Coke bottle in his hand that had his name on it. Even using a Coke bottle as a prop he tied Gods word with it. I will continue to pray for peace and comfort for all of you and our church family.
Love,
