Virginia Chapman Obituary

Virginia Mae Chapman LUBBOCK-Virginia Mae Chapman went home to be with her savior Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015. She was born in Lubbock County on Aug. 21, 1931, to Roy and Loraine Dodson of Hale Center, Texas, where she grew up and graduated. She attended Draughn's Business College in Plainview where she met and married Vernon Chapman in 1954. They were married 46 years before he died in 2000. She worked side by side with him in his carpentry business. She was a homemaker who loved to crochet; she made others happy with the gifts she would give away. She is survived by three children, Bobby and Carolyn Chapman of Wolfforth; Larry and Trinia Chapman of Wolfforth and Verna and Thomas Dean of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Chapman; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel.
