Charles Greeley Obituary

Charles B. "Charlie" Greeley, died Sunday, May 2, 2004, at his home in Boulder City, surrounded by his four children. He was 80. Born Dec. 13, 1923, in Los Angeles, to Nellie and Michael Greeley, he was one of six children. A longtime resident of Boulder City, he was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He also was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. An accomplished musician, he came to Boulder City, in 1947, to work at Hoover Dam for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. He retired from the dam in 1981. He brought his bride, Margaret A. "Peg" Fitzgerald, to the Boulder City after they were married in Los Angeles, Nov. 13, 1948. She preceded him in death Aug. 28, 2003. His survivors include their children, Helen Culazzo and son-in-law, Larry of Fairfield, Calif., Jeanne Schriewer and son-in-law, Jack of Piedmont, Okla., Mary of Boulder City, Stephen and daughter-in-law, Linda of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren, Gina Culazzo and her husband, Dave Wilkins of Chula Vista, Calif., Peter Culazzo of Fairfield, Calif., Chrissy Adams and her husband, Matt of Fairfield, Calif., and Christopher Ehnert of Boulder City; sisters, Mildred Kaeser of Grants Pass, Ore., Lucy Scates of Encinitas, Calif., and Julia Snell of Camarillo, Calif.; and brother, Lawrence of Rosemead, Calif. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrew's Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 5. It will be preceded by a visitation at 8 a.m. in the church. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. in Boulder City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Andrew's Outreach program. Bunker's Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
