DR. DAMON YANG

1928 - 2017

DR. DAMON YANG Dr. Damon H.C. Yang, passed away December 16, 2017. Yang was born in 1928, in Funan, China. A fifth generation doctor of traditional Chinese medicine, he lived and practiced in Las Vegas since 1987. He leaves behind his wife, Betty; and four children from a previous marriage, Lita, Anny, Paul and Tom. His children have each brought him great joy, pride and happiness. He also leaves behind his loving and admiring grandchildren, Maggie, Ryan, Kyle, Joanna, Kevin, Vivian, Vicki and Vincent. Prior to coming to America, he taught at several universities, teaching traditional Chinese medicine as well as Chinese history of involvement in World War II, before deciding to retire and move to America. In California, he met and married Betty, his wife of more than 30 years. Together, they traveled the world. He especially enjoyed traveling throughout China, spending time with his family in his childhood home, as well as in historically significant areas. After moving to Las Vegas, Dr. Yang made many contributions to the community. He served as president of the Nevada Oriental Medical Association for more than 18 years. He began Tai-Chi and Chi Gong classes at 6 a.m. every morning to help patients heal themselves naturally. He was a brilliant, kind and caring man who lived his life honorably in every way. He loved to work in his garden and beamed with pride when visitors commented on his creative wonders. His kind and loving heart will be remembered always. Private service will be held Saturday, December 23.
