Phillip Hooper Obituary

Phillip Everett Hooper passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2018, in Las Vegas, NV, in the company of his daughter and son-in-law. Phillip was born November 5, 1948, in Brigham City, Utah, to Jack and Daris (Toombs) Hooper.

Phillip graduated from Box Elder High School, Weber State University, and attended Utah State University working towards his Master’s degree. Phillip served in the Air Force from 1968 to 1972 and he was stationed in Vietnam. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1989, to work as an Environmental Protection Specialist at Nellis Air Force Base.

He had a deep passion for the environment, his country, and his family. Phillip enjoyed spending time traveling, no matter what the means of transportation. Motorcycle, boat, motor home, and/or camper, as long as the time was spent in the desert or mountains. He considered the outdoors his true home away from home. He was very talented in snow skiing, water skiing, and target gun shooting.

Phillip is survived by his daughter; Rachael and David Lark (West Point, UT); his sister Jackie and Eugene Taylor (Layton, UT), his brother Ron and Jeneil Hooper (Kingman, Az); 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Brian.

Please join the family in a celebration of his life, to be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the Union Grill, located at 315 24th Street Ogden, UT from 12-3 PM. Thank you to Divine Hospice (Las Vegas, NV) for all your comfort and care.
