RICHARD CRIPE Obituary

RICHARD CRIPE The "World Famous" Richard Cripe, of Las Vegas, passed away Oct. 31, 2014. Richard was a devoted husband, fun dad and amazing grandpa. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, a true patriot and a proud retiree of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 525. To know him was to love him. His zest for life was contagious and he could turn anything into a joke. He is survived by his wife, Debby Cripe; his children, Rebecca Garcia (Eddie), Zac Cripe (Manuela) and Jorian Frey (Cain); his grandchildren, Eddie, Aaron and Lincoln; and too many friends to count. He was taken from us too soon and will be dearly missed. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.

My heart goes out to all of Richards family. Rich was my best friend in High School. I loved his sense of humor, even when we got pulled over by the MAN, or crashed his Honda into my dads house. I still quote some of those really funny things he would say. I joined the Navy because he did. He was on the Enterprise, I was on the Long Beach. Gary's photo brings back great memories of days long gone, when I had hair and played the bass while Tom played the guitar. Life was always a party with Rich. He will never be forgotten.

I knew Richard in high school. He lived in Parkdale and was one of the "Parkdale Ruffians". Richard was a close friend to Tom Burt, my deceased ex-husband, and Jimmy Lane, also deceased. I always remember Richard's great sense of humor--he was a prankster! Rest in Peace--glad that he has a few buddies to be with. Sherrill Givens

My heartfelt condolences to everyone in the Cripe family. I considered Rich one of my best friends throughout High School. Those were crazy times and Rich was one of funniest free spirits I knew. I lost touch with him over the years but his impact on my life has never dimmed and never will. The attached photo of him at one of our pool parties hamming it up (in the serape) is how I will always remember him.

There was only ONE Richard Cripe! It was my pleasure to have worked with him at Scott Company.

I will always remember cruising the strip with Richard in the Scott Company truck.
