STEVEN GREENHALGH Obituary

STEVEN NED GREENHALGH Steven Ned Greenhalgh, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully from natural causes May 21, 2018, in Cedar City, Utah. Our beloved husband, father and grandfather was born December 6, 1931 in Neola, Utah to William Wallace Greenhalgh and Annie Sevella Wilson Greenhalgh. Ned grew up in southwestern Wyoming and graduated from Reliance High School. Attending a dance at Slovenski Dom in Rock Springs he met the love of his life, Mildred (Millie) Mae Baker; they were later married February 11, 1956. Ned in his young life worked as a sheep herder, coal miner and bartender. He graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering, he later received his Master's Degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah while he was working as an engineer for the Air Force at Hill Air Force Base. In 1968 he transferred to Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas to serve as an engineer and was the Operations Research Analyst for the Red Flag project until his retirement in 1987. His retirement years were spent building houses and taking Millie and the dogs on many RV trips throughout the west including Alaska. Throughout his life his favorite activities were spending time with family, taking his grandchildren on trips, coaching church basketball and softball teams, restoring Ford Mustangs, cheering on the Wyoming Cowboys and attending Polka Festivals with Millie. Ned was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; his children, Steve (Charlene) Greenhalgh and Linda (Greg) Wimer; 11 grandchildren, and 16 great- grandchildren. Dad was one of 12 children, Bonnie (Bill) Kouris, Ted (Marla) Greenhalgh, LaRee (Burt) Madden, Gail (Tom) Andrews, Marge (Jerry) Elliot, Glenna (Jim) Jelosek, DeEtt (John) Angelovic, Sheila (Norv) Williams, Monty (Rose) Greenhalgh, Mona (Scott) Thomas, and Bill Greenhalgh. Ned's greatest treasure was his family and friends. We would like to invite you to a "Celebration of Life" in his honor at High Noon Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Outlaw Inn, 1630 Elk Street, Rock Springs, WY 82901. The family would like to thank the Beehive Home, Ellen Vincent, Brad and Tammy Roberts and Zion's Way Hospice for the kind and loving care that they gave our father during his time of need.
