Kevin Gentile

1979 - 2014

Gentile, Kevin, age 35, of Allen Park, died November 23, 2014. He attended Allen Park High School and played hockey for the city. Born June 25, 1979 in Detroit. Son of the late Michael Gentile and Denise Nawrot, retired teacher from Krause Elementary School and stepson of David Nawrot. After high school, Kevin toured Europe playing electronic music in clubs as well as participating in events during the Detroit Electronic Music Festival with groups such as Scan 7. He earned his journeyman’s card and began union work as a ‘rodbuster’ building the foundation for such iconic landmarks as Comerica Park before moving on to Chicago where he worked on numerous high-rise buildings like Trump Tower. He is survived by his brother, Zachary Nawrot; son, William; and sisters, Kara Gentile, Angela Lindquist and Tammy Gentile. The memorial will be held from 6 p.m. until midnight Saturday, January 17, 2015, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 17113 Champaign, Allen Park. We welcome all whose lives were touched by this energetic and charismatic young man who left us all too soon. Those who attend the memorial are invited to bring photos and stories to share. In lieu of flowers the family is hoping to receive donations for the memorial service which can be made through PayPal at FriendsofKevinGentile@gmail.com. Additional donations will be made to the Salvation Army in Kevin Gentile’s name, as the organization helps those suffering from addictions.
