To the Smith Family - Ms. Mary I have had the opportunity to interact with your sons, Chris, Wesley & Dexter in a production and then this year meeting Arthur at the Christian Youth Basketball games and striking up a conversation on Black History which was his passion, I can honestly say that your sons are strong, intelligent and respectful young men. I want to express our (myself, Duane & Anthony) deepest sympathy - I pray God will bless you and your family with peace.Stay strong, God does not make mistakes. Always know that there are people who love and support you.

I would like to send my condolences to the Smith Family. I just returned from the Homegoing Services for Arthur and I must say it was truly a beautiful ceremony. I attended high school with his older brother Wesley.I did not know Authur before the services but after attending the services I feel like I have known him personally. It was like reading an autobiography.I have very seldom had the opportunity to attend a service where a person has touched so many people's lives(in a positive way) from all diverse backgrounds both old and young.I must say that Mr. and Mrs.Smith you have done an awesome job setting the blueprint for your family.

I met Mr Smith last year at Rutland High School. He had this mad passion to teach and his passion required the students to learn. He would find new ways to teach an old story or play and it was working. The student loved him. He will be sadly missed be all. My prayers go to the Family

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.” While we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil..You don’t get over it, you just get through it. Your don’t get by it, because you can’t get around it. It doesn’t ‘get better,’ It just gets different. Everyday grief puts on a new face.Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, Just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer. To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.
We pray God will Comfort you, And send Angels from above, Giving sweet peace within your heart, Surrounding you with Eternal Love. We are sorry for your deep loss, There's so little we can find to say, You are in our thoughts and prayers, As we grieve with you today. With Our Heartfelt Sympathy.

My heartfelt condolences to the Smith family. Arthur and I were classmates and I grew up in Pleasant Hill. My best friend(who did not attend Central High) was a student at Hampton Institute(in VA) in '89 and she recalled riding the bus home to Macon for Christmas and Arthur struck up a conversation with her. That was the kind of guy that he was. I now live in Suffolk, VA and was very saddened to hear that he passed not that far from where I live now. May God be with you, Arthur, on your journey...and may He comfort your family at this time.

As I prepare to say goodbye to my classmate & friend in a few hours my heart is heavy but I'm still able to smile at all the great times I shared with Arthur growing up. In high school he was always the "Great" guy. To the Smith family he was and will always be a wonderful example of your family legacy. God is the healer of ALL wounds no matter how painful. He will continue to hold your family together through this difficult time. I'm sure I speak for all who had the joy of knowing Arthur he will truly be missed. It's a great lost. My continued prayers are with you all. Be Blessed
