Howard Glover Obituary
September 16, 1935 - November 6, 2023
Decatur, Georgia - Mr. Howard Glover transitioned to eternal rest on November 6, 2023. A native of Macon, Ga., Howard was a star athlete at Ballard Hudson High School and in 1953, he signed an Athletic Scholarship with Morris Brown College in Atlanta. After graduation from Morris Brown College in 1958, he coached at his alma mater, Ballard Hudson High School. He later coached in the Atlanta Public School System at West Fulton High School and J.E. Brown High School. Howard was a long-time educator in the Bibb Co. Atlanta, and Dekalb Co. School Systems, where he has served as a Teacher, Coach, Assistant Principal, Principal, and District Athletic Director. He was also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Anna Belle Glover and Mr. Eddie J. Glover; siblings – Mrs. Eddie Mae Smith Lucas, Mr. Jesse B. Glover, Mr. Willie Glover, Dr. Frank Glover, Sr.; son – Mr. Howard Glover II.
Howard's children are Rachelle Glover Reddick (James), Karen Glover Phillips, Howard Glover II (deceased); seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 18th, 2023, at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, 2340 Clifton Springs Road, Decatur, GA.
