Iris Lowery Obituary
August 13, 1928 - March 17, 2015
Cadwell, GA- Iris "Dot" Tipton Lowery, age 86 of Cadwell, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015.
Services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Rentz. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Dr. Larry Daniel will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church on Friday.
Mrs. Lowery was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Rentz. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Dublin Chapter 175 O.E.S and owner of Barney's Truck Stop. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Lyma Tipton; husband, Johnnie L. Lowery; son, Hugh Lowery; grandchildren, Melisa Lowery-Sanker and James Lowery and brother, Donald Tipton.
Survivors include her special friend, J.W. Warren of East Dublin; daughters, Becky Lowery (David) Senn of East Dublin and Johnnie Lowery White of Cadwell; sons, Jack (Becky) Lowery of Cadwell, Al (Trisia) Lowery of Forest, VA and Louis Lowery of Macon; grandchildren, Brad (Aimee) Lowery, Ron (Christina) Lowery, Jay (Stacy) Lowery, Heather (Lynn) Mullis, Matt (Tosha) Lowery, Joel Lowery, Scott White and Julie (Tony) Newsome; brother, Russell (Virginia) Tipton; sisters, Nancy Snyder, Frances (Andy) Thigpen, Nell Cunningham and Kaye (Phil) Couey; daughter-in-law, Annelle Lowery; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Deacons of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Eastern Star Dublin Chapter 175 O.E.S.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Laurens Baptist Association Food Pantry, 1882 Trinity Hills Drive, Dublin, GA 31021. Please visit www.townsendfuneralhome.com to sign the online memorial register.
