It has been almost 16 years since your death. I was only two when it happened, but I know you have been watching over me since. I always ask Mama and Grammi stories about you, and I feel like I knew you well from those stories. I wish I could have known you in person, but God had another plan for that. I have graduated highschool and started college. I know you would be so proud for how far I've come. I only wish that I could give you a hug and say thank you for everything.
Love your great granddaughter,
Caroline(Now 18 years old)

It's been nearly a year now since you left us, and I am reading this guest book again, and realized that I never signed it. I guess there just weren't words at that time. I know you are in heaven and with Bob there too. I knew you were going to leave us last Christmas Eve, God told me that day you wanted to be in heaven with Bob on Christmas, but I didn't really want to believe it. It was too hard, so close together, and I just didn't want to lose my daddy too. It's been a hard couple of years, and this year without the 2 men in my life who I depended on for advice and unconditional love has been a struggle. I will always remember the life advice you gave me all my life.... you will never be forgotten in our hearts. I know I gave you a hard time, and we butted heads a lot, but everyone says that's because I'm like YOU. I prefer to think it's determination, and not hard-headedness! :-) I love you Daddy.. Love Nancy

Big Daddy,
You were one of my heroes. I always looked up to you and I always hoped that you were proud of me. You were one of the reasons I became a nurse because you told me the story of waking up in the field hospital in the arms of a beautiful redheaded nurse and I wanted to be someone that people would remember for the next 60 years too. I will always remember your voice and you asking me "who was giving me the most trouble." I love you very much and I will tell Caroline stories about you. I know that you are in heaven with Uncle Bob and our other family members. Kiss them for me and tell them that I love them. I will miss you very much and hope that you have good hunting in heaven. I'll always be your "Alabama yellowhammer."

Jim was my wonderful friend. When I think of your family, I will always be reminded of the joy I felt when walking in the door at the Cannington's. What a wonderful way to remember someone, I will always think of James Harold's smile, and laughter. He sure loved a good story, and captivated me many times with his stories of his life.

Annie B. My prayers are with you and your family. It was wonderful to know you and Harold and be your friend and neighbor for so many years, and to watch our children become adults together. Better neighbors, I could never have asked for. It hurt when you left the neighborhood but that hurt can't compare to the hurt of losing a good man and friend for life. Though you have lost your partner in life, you can be confident in knowing he will be standing beside you and walking with you through your life and through eternity. He will be missed by everyone that had the pleasuer to know him. May God bless you and keep you safe.

To My Bigdaddy,
You have always been my HERO and always will be. I miss you very much and even though we sometimes butted heads I always loved and respected you. You always taught me how important it was to be a Cannington and that Cannington's are strong and can do anything. Thank you for all that you have given to your family and country. I know now that you are no longer suffering from pain and are dancing in Heaven now with our Lord. Our family will never be the same without you, but I know that we will one day be together again. I promise to make the cat tap dance every now and then.
I love you Bigdaddy!
Love always,
Your grandaughter

I only met Mr. Jim Cannington a few times but he left a lasting impression on me. He enjoyed talking about military history, competition shooting, and hunting. Jim was a cheerful and invigorating presence, living life to the fullest. My prayers go out to Mrs. Ann (Mom) Cannington and the Cannington family. It has been my pleasure to have known Jim Cannington, he will be deeply missed.
