James McAfee Obituary

James Lotis McAfee -WRIGHTSVILLE - Funeral services for James Lotis McAfee, age 83, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 at Tuckers Grove Holiness Church with burial to follow at Westview Cemetery. Elder Kenneth Brantley, Rev. Lester Johnson and Rev. Jimmy Smith will officiate. -Born in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Rev. Lotis and Ila Oliver McAfee. He was a veteran of World War II, having served during the European Theater, during which he received the Bronze Star for bravery. He was the founder and president of McAfee Packing Company, Inc. -He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Faye Innecken. Mr. McAfee passed away early Sunday morning following and extended illness. -He is survived by his wife Sara Nell Bray McAfee of Wrightsville, a daughter and son-in-law, Judith M. & Nick Holton of Wrightsville, two sons and daughters-in-law, James Lotis & Virgina McAfee of Wrightsville and John Ashley & Glenda McAfee of Tennille, nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. -The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 at the funeral home. -Pallbearers will be Johns Ashley McAfee, Jr., Alex McAfee, James McAfee, III, Jonathan McAfee, Eric Holton, and Jim Holton. Honorary escorts will be Holton Webb, Gene Brantley, Kenneth Oliver, Baker Oliver, Grover Edwards, Donnie Carter, Otis Wiggins, George Phillips, Franklin McCoy, William May, Joe Harry Rowland and Dr. Jean Sumner. -Stanley Funeral Home of Wrightsville has charge of the arrangements.
