Butler, GA- Funeral services for Larry Cox, 56, of Butler will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Bethel Congregational Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Cox passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Midtown Medical Center.
He was a member of Bethel Congregational Methodist Church. He was a mason and a member of The National Aeronca Association.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Cox.
Survivors include two sons, Chris (Jessica) Cox of Butler and Wesley Cox of Reynolds; two grandchildren, Ava Cox of Butler and Peyton Cox of Butler; father, Jamie Cox of Butler; one brother, Lamar (Tina) Cox of Butler; two nieces, Mindy Hobbs of Reynolds and Melanie Allen of Buena Vista.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 until 12 at the funeral home.

Mr Jamie, Lamar, Tina, Chris, Wesley and rest of family,
I was really saddened to her of Larry's passing. I hadn't realized he had been sick so was a real setback to me to hear. Larry was always such a friendly, pleasant person to be around. Really enjoyed any time I ran into him and had the chance to talk with him. Was fortunate to have known him and the family since childhood and you are all special people to me. I know you all will really miss him. Just keep the good thoughts of him with you. Will keep you in my prayers.

So sorry to hear the news about Larry. He was a fellow antique airplane (Aeronca) nut with the rest of us and we always enjoyed seeing him in Middletown Ohio at the fly-in's... He will be missed. Good weather and tailwinds on your flnal flight my friend!

Larry was a great friend and I so enjoyed running up with him at H&J every once in a while and just being able to speak with him always made me feel good. Larry had a way of making friends with everyone and he never, ever looked down upon anyone and always treated everyone as his equal. Never has there ever been a finer person in Taylor county. This I have said are things that his family and many friends already know. We all know Larry will be greatly missed but also we know that his heavenly soul is now in celebration with God, as well as those that went on before Larry. Chris, Wesley, Mr. Jamie, Lamar and family, you are in our thoughts and prayers and may God help you thru this trying time.

My friend has flown west. A journey all pilots must someday take. His flight towards the sunset will free him of trouble and pain. I will miss our talks and his company. He was a special person and I will remember him always. My sympathies to his family and all who knew him.
