Lawton Middleton "Milt" Morris Jr.

Dr. "Milt" Morris -BAXLEY - Lawton Middleton "Milt" Morris, Jr., 44, died February 14 at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native of Appling County and had lived in Washington, DC and Macon before returning to Appling County. Dr. Morris was a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church. He was a periodontist and had practiced dentistry in Baxley, GA, Washington, DC and Macon, GA. Dr. Morris was Valedictorian of his 1975 graduating class of Appling County High School and an outstanding athlete. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1979 and from the Medical College of Georgia in 1983. -Dr. Morris was preceded by his mother, Deanna Dixon Morris. He is survived by his father, Lawton Morris, Sr. of Baxley; four brothers, Steve Morris of Roswell, GA, Dr. Kyle Morris of Monroe, GA, Keith Morris of Baxley and Mark Morris of Hinesville, GA; maternal grandmother, Myrtle Dixon of Baxley, and several nieces and nephews. -Funeral services were held Sunday, February 17, at 3P.M. at Ten Mile Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Daniels officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
