Dear Brother George and Family, I pray God's blessings upon you at this time of loss. There is nothing like a mother, she is irreplaceable. George I have known your mom since I went up on the hill to what was called Lasseter High School -- Northeast High School. Your mom was a very impressive person; she commanded respect and it was given to her and her petite stature played no roll in how she handled all of the students. She never talked down to us but she let us know that she meant business. As an adult now, I would see her in the stores shopping and she always remembered my name and she would engage in good conversation for a brief moment and would be on her way. I am glad to be able to say your mom was my friend and such an inspiration to me just because of who she was, kind, always smiling and gracious. I won't say hold your head up or be strong due to the loss of your mom; but what I will say is she is in heaven now and you can take comfort in knowing that. George take care my brother. God Bless.

Dear George,
I only had the pleasure of briefly conversing with your sweet Mom on a few occasions, and each time it was indeed a great pleasure to be in her presence. She truly radiated grace and kindness. You, her family, friends and Macon as a whole are immensely better that she blessed us by passing through our lives. She will be forever remembered and loved by so many, and leaves with you a wonderful legacy. My condolences to all of her loved ones.

Words can't express how thankful I am for being able to be one of many she loved as a student at Central high....Oh we had our moments but it was all in love for me. Mrs. Espy didn't give up on me she pushed me to be better at whatever I did, no matter how bad I was she loved me, sent me home and let me came back to school. I saw her at the Harvey's grocery store, l had my daughter with me and she said I know you. I said Hi Mrs. Espy I have one just like me, her response was. ...she will be fine. I said you think so and she said yes because you turned out just fine.....Oh how I love Mrs. Espy. God truly blessed us with a jewel! Thankful. Praying God comforts this family in this time of a Great Loss. She will be missed by many but Loved by more.

I was greatly saddened to hear of the death of Mrs. Espy. My association with Mrs. Espy goes way back. She was my English teacher during my sophomore year at Ballard-Hudson Senior High. I met with her on several occasions when she was the principal at Central High School and I was a member of a mentors group that mentored students at Central High. Later I became a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church where Mrs. Espy was a member. Our last meeting was about a year ago when I met her coming out of a grocery store. I helped her get her items into her car and we chatted briefly. It was always good to see her, for she was always so nice. To her family I express my sincere condolences. She will be sorely missed by so many people. May God be with you in your time of grief.

I remember Mrs. Espy when I attended Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church during 1990-94 while a student at Mercer University. She opened her heart and home to those of us who walked down to Mt. Olive. I was so pleased to have made her acquaintance. Such a beautiful spirit and smile. She along with Professor Espy, truly watched over students with care, concern, and love. May God bless her family as they process this most difficult task. To be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord. And what greater Christmas gift could that be?
