Samuel Bowens -BROOKHAVEN, PA - Samuel Bowens, age 62, of Brookhaven and formerly of Wallingford, Nether Providence, PA died Monday, January 7, 2008 at home. -Born in Macon, Georgia, to Tressie Mae Ricks and the late Simon Bowens, Jr. he had been a resident of Wallingford, Nether Providence for 35 years, before moving to Brookhaven, PA 2 years ago. He graduated with a BS Degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and graduate with a MS Degree from Villanova University in Physiology. He was a US Army Veteran from December 1, 1967 to July 9, 1970 serving in Vietnam as a Chief Warrant Officer. Mr. Bowens was employed at the University of Pennsylvania as a Counselor for many years and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and camping. -Survived by A Brother: Glenn (Velvalene) Bowens of Dothan, Alabama; Two Nieces: Glenda and Laticia Bowens; Dear Friends: Richard Frawley and Michael McCrory. -A Funeral Gathering Friday 11:00 a.m. at The Minshall-Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte*352) & Knowlton Roads, Middletown Twp., Media, PA. Interment private.
