Aaron Ashley Ingold
May 22, 1982 - September 15, 2024
MAZOMANIE - Aaron Ashley Ingold, age 42, of Mazomanie, wonderful husband, father, brother, and son passed away peacefully, on September 15, 2024, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, after a truly heroic battle with an extremely rare brain cancer.
One of Aaron's friends remarked, "the first time I met Aaron I remember thinking, geez I hope that giant human is friendly. Well, he was friendly, insanely talented and one of the most genuinely decent people I have ever met." Aaron had the heart of a lion in the personification of a bear.
Aaron was born May 22, 1982, in Madison, WI, to Raymond Ingold and Kathi (Albrecht). Aaron grew up in Black Earth, WI, and attended Wisconsin Heights schools. Aaron met his sweetheart, Madeline Barger, in August 2010 and they married June 7, 2014, making their home in Mazomanie, Wisconsin. Their daughter, Eleanore Belle Ingold was born October 25, 2018. Aaron shared a rewarding trade business with his uncle, Tim Albrecht, from whom he learned so much. Aaron was a gifted musician and song writer and left a remarkable influence on the Madison music scene. His band, the American Dead, and its members were family to him.
Music flowed out of Aaron, being a talented guitar player and also a natural singer. Aaron enjoyed sharing book reviews with his grandmother-in-law, Joan and he was a coffee, brunch, and vodka soda aficionado. He had a brilliant eye for design and functionality in his trade and his artistic talent extended to drawing many humorous caricatures and cartoons for friends and family. Aaron was a tender, creative writer whether music lyrics or love letters to his wife, Madeline. Often quiet, always funny, he is remembered sitting on his deck in flannel, coffee in hand, reading Hunter S. Thompson or Stephen King. A study in contrasts, Aaron was a burley dude (nicknamed Sasquatch and Big Foot) who loved the Packers, fashion and poetry, in addition to being a dog, cat, and baby whisperer.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline Barger, and daughter Eleanore Belle (Ingold) of Mazomanie, Wisconsin, his parents Raymond and Kathi of Black Earth, brother Jesse (Melissa) nieces Clover and Adrienne of Mount Horeb, father-in-law Walter Barger (Joan Stuessy) of Blue Mounds, mother-in-law, Joan LaCroix of Denver, sister-in-law Alison McKay (Jerel) of Arena, grandmother-in-law Joan Sanstadt of Madison, Uncle Tim Albrecht of Arena, as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Delmar and Aleda Belle Albrecht and paternal grandparents Frank and Anna Ingold, in addition to many beloved uncles and cousins.
Aaron's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the UW cancer doctors, healthcare professionals and also the staff at Agrace Hospice for their special care during this 16-month journey with brain cancer. Also thank you to Pastor John for his visits and prayers.
Per Aaron's wishes, a visitation (10:00 12 noon) will be held followed by a celebration of life and luncheon on September 28, 2024, at Midland United Methodist Church, 10235 County Rd. KP, Mazomanie, Wisconsin with Pastor John Oliver celebrating.
