Dean Arthur Kong

STOUGHTON - Dean Arthur Kong, age 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Nazareth after four years of amazing care.
He was born in Stoughton on December 2, 1948, the son of Lyle and Barbara Kong. Dean grew up in Utica and attended Western Koshkonong School. He graduated from Stoughton High School in 1966. Dean married his high school sweetheart, Linda Kay Johnson, and together they had two children, Danny and Kari.
Dean worked as a welder for over 40 years. He was a talented musician and artist, the life of the party, an excellent storyteller, and friend to everyone he met. Dean was quick to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his daughter, Kari (Pete) Bartelt; bonus son, Erik (Amber) Bradley; previous wife, Karen Harvey; previous wife, Marcia Ocain and her children: Jeremy (Lindsay) Clark, Jeny Clark and Jasmine (Dan) Hanson; previous wife, Janet Hanson, and her daughter, Becca Hanson; grandchildren: Kassie (Colton) Monroe, Kaylie (Dan) Anderson, and Ben Bartelt; many bonus grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Kaliya, Cashton, Kamryn, Louis and Layla; sisters: Diane (Roy) Fritz, Bonnie (Bob) Hufford, and Beth (Louis) Ely; sister-in-law, Cathy Kong; many extended relatives; and great friends.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; son, Danny; grandson, Noah; and brother, Rollie Kong.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect Street, Stoughton. A luncheon reception will follow at the Stoughton American Legion Post 59. A special thank you to the staff at Nazareth Heath and Rehabilitation and Agrace HospiceCare Inc. Dean was our neighbor and trusted friend. He was the first on the scene to calm my daughter after she cut her arm on a broken window. I will always be grateful. Sorry for you loss.
