BERRY TOWNSHIP/MARXVILLE - Harland F. Evert, age 84, passed away in the comfort of his home on Sunday, February 18, 2024.
He was born in that same home on December 4, 1939, to the late Norman and Gustie (Schultz) Evert. He graduated from Mazomanie High School class of 1957. Harland was united in marriage to Sharon Hoffmann at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marxville on August 13, 1960. He was especially proud of his very successful fourth generation dairy farm which is still in full operation. Harland enjoyed working hard and instilled that same work ethic in his children, whom he was also very proud of. Harland and Sharon enjoyed traveling. Memorable trips include New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Nova Scotia, and yearly trips to Branson. Harland served on the Town of Berry Board. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and served as a council member. He enjoyed family events and looked forward to time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sharon; their children: Bonnie (Bruce) Johnson, Roger (Kathy) Evert, Scott (Dawn) Evert, and Dave (Carol) Evert; nine grandchildren: Jayden (Melissa) Johnson, Erica (Tyler) Klingfus, Jessica (friend Steve), Garret, Hannah, Belle (friend Colton), Lane, Nathan, and Dawson (friend Megan) Evert; four great-grandchildren: Sullivan and Sadie Klingfus, Mason and Myles Johnson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lucille (Lorren) Hofmann.
There will be an evening visitation for Harland on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City. A visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. A funeral service for Harland will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 8748 Hwy 19, Marxville. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. Lunch will be served following the funeral service (approximately 12:30 p.m.) at the Dorf Haus, 8931 County Y, Sauk City(Roxbury), WI. Friends and family are encouraged to come celebrate Harland's life whether they are able to attend the funeral services or not.
