Brumm, John William
MILWAUKEE - John William Brumm, 81, passed on Thursday, May 13, 2021, surrounded by family. John was born in February of 1940 in Middleton, Wis., to the late Elmer and Helen (Punswick) Brumm. He graduated from Middleton High in 1958 and then served in the U.S. Army for two years. He went on to enjoy a long career as a truck driver.
John was quiet and easygoing, with a sharp wit, stellar memory, and a gift for storytelling. He had an unforgettable, contagious smile and laugh. He enjoyed the simple pleasures but especially the penny slots, stopping at Feiler's for a sandwich, and time with family. He will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure to know him.
John is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 30 years, Linda; daughters, Sue (Mike Reber) and Stephanie (Matt Ansfield); step-sons, John (Liza) Veloz and Michael (Becky) Veloz; sisters, Mary Feiler and Janice Haynie; former spouse, Patricia Brumm; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Helen; and his faithful yellow lab, Harley.
A celebration of the life of John will be held on Sunday, June 6 at SMOKY'S CLUB, 3005 University Ave., Madison, from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. We welcome anyone who knew John to come celebrate his life with stories and memories.
