Jon Funseth Obituary

Jon Harvey Funseth lived an unconventional and complicated life stemming from his insatiable appetite (both literally and figuratively) for knowledge, his seemingly endless supply of energy and his unresolved childhood trauma. The popular quote "your time on earth is limited. Don't try to age with grace, age with mischief, audacity and a good story to tell" best describes how Jon lived his 62 years.

He was born to Barbara and Harvey Funseth and grew up in Belleville WI. While he didn't care much for material possessions or maintaining a healthy bank account, he was a millionaire in friendships, stories and experiences. He had a deep desire for knowledge, but his interest in school was overshadowed by his sense of adventure. He was masterful at avoiding a 9-5 job and yet managed to outwork and outperform most everyone around him. He was a master tree trimmer, athlete and story teller.

Jon didn't always make the best decisions or healthiest choices, but he lived his life to the fullest. He had an uncanny ability to gain the love and trust of animals ( both wild and domestic) but the love of his dog Farley was the most meaningful. He was willing to help anyone and everyone even when he had nothing. He lived his life in the fast lane and rarely slowed down enough to experience life in the slow lane.

Jon's family invite you to a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Please come with your favorite Jon stories and share in his favorite meal of cottage cheese, maraschino cherries and a sleeve of crackers.

His ability to live in the moment was very inspiring. He was a tough and tumble guy with a caring heart. So tough on the outside he made difficult challenges seem easy. I loved his ability to connect with anyone so easily. I´ll miss his robustness making the now a lively place to be.
