July 26, 1990 - Nov. 11, 2023
VERONA - Jon Michael Trasamar, age 33, peacefully passed away on November 11, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 26, 1990, in Blue Earth, MN, he was the youngest son of Lonnie and Cindy Trasamar. Jon met his wife, Allie, through family and a mutual friend, and they were married in Madison, WI, on March 19, 2022. Jon grew up in Minnesota and attended Blue Earth Area High School, where he excelled as a two-sport athlete. Throughout high school, he earned numerous accolades at the conference and state levels, underscoring his dedication and exceptional skill. He then attended the University of Minnesota, where he played four years of golf and was an integral part of the 2014 Big Ten Championship-winning team.
After college, Jon pursued a professional golf career, competing in events on the Dakotas, Outlaw, Dreamchasers, Swingthought, Pepsi, All Pro Tour, PGA TOUR Americas, and Korn Ferry Tour. He achieved notable success throughout his career, winning multiple times across the various tours he competed.
A beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Jon touched the lives of everyone he encountered. His charismatic smile, gentle nature, and witty sense of humor were a source of joy for all fortunate to share in his company. Whether it was playing golf, traveling to the happiest place on earth, or simply enjoying the company of loved ones, Jon embraced every facet of life with an adventurous spirit and steadfast commitment to make the most of every moment. Grounded in unwavering faith and trust in God, Jon pursued his dreams with unparalleled determination and enthusiasm. His irreproachable work ethic and quest to pursue better inspired those around him to elevate their own pursuits. Jon's legacy stands as a testament to a life lived with passion, purpose, and boundless love for family and friends, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
Jon is survived by his loving wife, Allie; mother, Cindy Trasamar; brother, Ryan (Heather) Trasamar, and their children: Lincoln and Rosie; in-laws, Jeff (Sue) Haen; Kyle (Jessica) Haen and their daughter, Charlie; and many family and friends throughout the country and around the world. He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Trasamar; and grandparents, Marce and Joyce Homan.
Jon will be greatly missed by everyone fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. To honor his legacy, we celebrate Jon's life and the profound impact he left on all who were blessed to know him. Whenever you encounter a sequence of ones, be it the time on the clock or another numerical pattern, think of Jon. May the symbolism of ones serve as a gentle reminder to embrace life with the same magic that Jon brought to each day.
Funeral services to honor and remember Jon will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, MN. Visitation will take place at the church starting at 11:00 AM before the mass. A live broadcast of the funeral service will be available for those who are unable to attend in person; the link can be found at the bottom of Jon's obituary on the Patton Funeral Home website.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Jon Trasamar Scholarship Fund at the University of Minnesota (please direct any contributions to Attn: Randy Handel and include Jon's name in the memo line).
