Michael Patrick "Mike" Schmudlach
March 12, 1957 – August 8, 2024
BROOKLYN - Michael Patrick Schmudlach, aged 67 years, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024. He was born on March 12, 1957, to Maynard G. "Tony" and Patricia Ann (McMahon) "Mickie" Schmudlach. He was a life-long resident of Dane County, graduating from West High in 1975. Mike was a successful building contractor in Madison and the surrounding area. He married Linda (nee Findley) Harsy on Sept. 14, 2013, in the Town of Rutland.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kevin; sister, Coleen; and brother, Andy. He is survived by his wife, Linda, and her two sons, Christopher Harsy and Nicolas (Margaret) Harsy; brother, Keith (Cindy) Schmudlach; paternal uncle, Gerald (Judy) Schmudlach; maternal aunt, Mary Donavan; many cousins, nephews, nieces and his Ho-Chunk family.
Friends and family were invited to GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. to remember and celebrate the life of Mike. A second visitation will be held at Mike's home from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, followed by a short service, with burial at Town of Rutland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike's memory may be made to the Wisconsin Historical Society – IH Collections or Wisconsin Historical Society Press or to Agrace HospiceCare. A full obituary may be viewed and online condolences made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Mike went and hauled home our first horse. It was 15 below zero so he charged me 15 bucks. He borrowed our Percheron gelding Tractor Dan to drive his bride away from the Church on Pleasant view road. Always greeted me with a smile.
