Legler, Nicholas F.
GRANDVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio - Nicholas Franklin Legler, 27, of Grandview Heights, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 8, 2021. Nicholas was born in Dover, Ohio, on Oct. 20, 1994, to loving parents, Roger and Jerri Lynn (Baldwin) Legler. He was raised in Upper Arlington, Ohio, and graduated from Upper Arlington High School with the Class of 2013. Nicholas attended Columbus State Community College and had recently earned his associate degree in Information technologies.
From a very young age, Nicholas exhibited a true passion for sports unlike any other. He was a tremendous athlete, excelling most notably in football, lacrosse, and wrestling. He was undefeated as a young wrestler, and starred on both the varsity football and lacrosse teams at UAHS. He quickly became known as "Nicky Legs" both on and off the field, a nickname that stuck with him throughout his lifetime. When Nicholas wasn't playing sports, you could find him watching or reading up on the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. Following in the footsteps of his father, his love for all things Wisconsin was evident to all who knew him. In addition to his active lifestyle, Nicholas had a spirit that would light up the room. His laugh was truly infectious, and he always knew how to bring a smile to someone's face. He was extremely intelligent, and never hesitated when it came to fixing anything that had to do with computers or technology.
Nicholas had a kind heart and such a sweet soul, and was a true joy to be around. Due to his creative and witty nature, Nicholas had developed a sea of friends from both school and the workplace. He enjoyed getting together with friends during his free time to watch football or hangout, and often spent extra time at his office simply getting to know his coworkers better. He was the best "big brother" to his two doggies, Juno and Barron, and recently earned the title of "Uncle Nick" to his baby nephew, Jackson. Over the last few years, Nicholas had started spending many weekends at his parents' ranch, where he loved working on home projects with his father and helping his mother make photo displays for their new home. Nicholas was always the one to take pictures, ensuring we would have memories for the fun times we had shared. He was an incredibly admirable young man, the type who always said "I love you" before he hung up the phone. He loved his family dearly and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Nicholas is survived by his loving parents, Roger and Jerri Lynn (Baldwin) Legler of Greenfield, Ohio; older sister, Bailey (Legler) Schreck; brother-in-law, Maxwell Schreck; nephew, Jackson Nicholas (Worthington, Ohio); and his beloved German Shepherds, Juno and Barron. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as his Upper Arlington "buddies" who all loved Nick as their own brother. Nicholas was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Russel and Judy (Latham) Baldwin of Plain City, Ohio; paternal grandparents, Norman Legler of Verona, Wis., and Emily (Offerdahl) Legler of Fort Myers, Fla.; and maternal aunt, Beverly (Baldwin) Sullivan of Dublin, Ohio.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Nicholas. The greatest pain for a parent is to lose a child. Keep your memories close. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
