Patrick Dale Pauls
July 22, 1943 - August 25, 2024
Patrick Dale Pauls, age 81, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, surrounded by his family. Pat was born on July 22, 1943, to Earl and Clementine (Welter) Pauls in Monroe, WI.
Pat was a graduate of Rio High School. He worked at Royster Clark and Stokleys before beginning a career with Columbus Products. After he retired, Pat used his gift of gab to sell cars and B.S. with anyone who crossed his path. He was the kind of guy who knew someone wherever he went.
It was his side job serving up Hamms' shorties at the Resort where he met his future wife "Twink." They were married on August 7, 1965 at St. Jerome.
Pat was a devoted family man who always placed his loved ones at the center of his life. He provided a foundation of love, guidance, and unwavering support. Pat never missed an event or an opportunity to boast about his children and grandchildren. He cherished his role as grandfather and showed it in countless ways.
Pat was an avid sports fan cheering on the Badgers, Packers, and Dale Earnhardt. He enjoyed golfing, cruising the backroads, fishing trips to Canada, euchre, hunting, and finding a good deal. When he wasn't coaching his kids teams, he was cheering them on from the stands. Although he was known to grumble about the "dog and pony show," he cherished the family traditions centered around the holidays.
Pat is survived by his wife of 59 years Phyllis of Columbus; children: JoEllen (Bob) Pauls of Columbus, Michael (Zoe) Pauls of Ridgeville, SC, Stephanie (Matt) Zinke of Stillman Valley IL; grandchildren: Jordan (Emily), Tayllor, Daren, Kourtney, Gracelyn, Zoe, Johanna, Olivia; great-grandchild, Leo; brother: Bruce (Lyn) Pauls; sister Judy (Rob) Noyce; sisters-in-law Rosey Pauls, Denise Ladwig, Cynthia Gray; other relatives and friends. Pat is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dennis.
"What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us."
A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM with the Funeral Mass starting at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus. Rev. Joji Reddy Thirumalareddy will officiate.
