Rodney Goeden Obituary
February 26, 1936 - October 29, 2025
Rodney M. Goeden, age 89, of Dane, died October 29, 2025, at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born February 26, 1936, to Joe and Bertilla (Breunig) Goeden. Rodney married Louise Ziegler on March 5, 1957, at St. Peter's in Ashton.
Rodney worked in the Dane County Sheriff's department for over 30 years until his retirement in 1994. He also was a lifelong farmer.
He enjoyed playing cards and board games, working in his yard and garden, and watching the Brewers, Badgers and Packers. He loved to travel with Louise, and they visited all 50 states and several countries in Europe.
Rodney is survived by his daughter, Sharon Roberson; and two sons, Richard (Milissa) and David (Kathy); eight grandchildren, Craig (Ashley), Cory, Emily, Elizabeth, Duncan, Hamish, David and Owen; and two great-grandchildren, Amara and Jace. He is further survived by his sister, Mary Jo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; two sons, Gary and Robert; and two brothers, Donald and Michael.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5,2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 209 South St., Waunakee, WI. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
Memorial Donations may be made in Rodney's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or a charity of your choice.
