Bill passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at CHI Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, NE.
William C. Goeden was born January 22, 1933, in Menominee, Nebraska to Charles and Wilhelmina (Paschang) Goeden. Sadly, William's mother passed away during childbirth. He then was raised in his early years by his Grandma Paschang and aunt, Justine Paschang. He attended school in Wynot, Nebraska and spent the summers down on the Paschang family farm. In March 1953, Bill enlisted in the Army. While in the Army, he served in the Korean Conflict and was discharged in March 1955.
On August 10, 1955, Bill married Rita Maly. Shortly after marriage, they moved to the farm southwest of West Point. In 1962, Bill and Rita moved to the Paschang family farm. In 1986, they moved to their current residence, the farm where they first lived.
Bill was a faithful member of St. Anthony's Parish, St. Charles. He volunteered his time and labor to the church serving on many committees of St. Anthony's, but his passion was St. Anthony's Cemetery.
Farming was his passion all his life, especially feeding cattle, hogs and grain harvest. Bill helped with 4-H programs and loved attending the Cuming County Fair. Being with family and friends was very important to Bill. He was a Third-Degree Knights of Columbus member and the American Legion.
In Bill's later years he enjoyed family, going out to visit friends, playing cards, reading and putting together puzzles.
