Moe, Roger Dean
SAUK PRAIRIE - Roger Dean Moe was born in Superior, Wis., on March 31, 1937, to Christine (Kennedy) Moe and Oscar Moe. He started dating the love of his life, Dorothy Nollet, at the end of his senior year in high school and has been her devoted husband since July 19, 1958. Roger started working at a very young age and put himself through college at UW-Superior by working for the Burlington Northern Railroad.
Roger started his lengthy teaching career at Superior East High School in 1959. He moved his family to Prairie du Sac when he started teaching at Sauk Prairie High School in 1964, where he taught until he retired in 1999. In addition to teaching, Roger was involved in coaching football, basketball and baseball.
Roger's family was his pride and priority, and he instilled in them, through his examples, a strong work ethic, a love for sports and the need to be kind and giving. He also shared with them some of his greatest passions such as traveling, investing in the stock market, enjoying life, celebrating and enjoying a cold beer.
Roger is survived by his wife, Dotty; daughters, Connie (Keith Ballweg) and Robin (Jan Ruhland); grandson, Travis Ruhland; six granddaughters, Lindsey (Brook Morris), Breanna (Ryan Hellenbrand), Casey Ruhland, Tierney (Tyler Zeman), Danae (Derric Junakin) and Lauren (Jeff Peetz); and six great-grandchildren. Roger is further survived by his brother-in-law, Lawrence Ligman; a niece; a nephew; and several cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Richard.
Roger's family would like to thank the kind and caring staffs at Banner Del E Webb Medical Center, Surprise Health & Rehabilitation Center, Sauk Prairie Clinic, Sauk Prairie Healthcare, Maplewood of Sauk Prairie, and SSM Health St Mary's Hospital; Dr. McAuliffe; home therapists, Donna and David; home nurse, Pat; Dr. Hevi; and Frankie, for giving him such loving care during his final journey in life.
A visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 2, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and on Tuesday, Aug. 3, from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m., at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, 251 Water St., Sauk City. Dottie and girls: sorry to hear about Roger´s passing. Barb called me today to let me know. We´ve both been doctoring the past few years and I got out of the nursing/rehab home yesterday. Because of limited abilities we´ll be unable to any services but just wanted to let you and the girls know you´re in our thoughts and prayers through the next few days and hope everything goes smoothly for you. May God bless your family at this time.
