Jerry Dockstader Obituary
Jerry Lee Dockstader, 71, of Buhl, Idaho, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. A beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Jerry will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his dedication to family, and his long-standing career as a skilled electrician.
Born on October 6, 1953, in Rupert, Idaho, to Ronald and Louise Dockstader, Jerry faced life with resilience and humor. He raised his three children-Brad Dockstader, Chad Dockstader, and Heather Tucker-on his own following the passing of his beloved wife Julie. Jerry never left his kids behind, especially when it came to his favorite pursuits of hunting, fishing, and camping; creating cherished memories in Idaho's great outdoors.
An avid outdoorsman, Jerry found joy in hunting trips, horseback rides, early mornings by the lake, and annual fishing trips with his grandsons Truitt and Maddox. His knack for thoughtful gift-giving was legendary-gifts showed up unwrapped, but always perfect.
Jerry dedicated his professional life to the electrical trade. As the proud owner of Doc's Electric and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, he earned a reputation for honesty, hard work, and expertise that made him a trusted figure in the community.
He is survived by his children Brad, Chad, Heather, and Lance; adopted son Jasper; stepchildren Robin and Shane; grandsons Truitt and Maddox; granddaughters Juliette, Amelia, and Susie; sisters Debbie and Lucia; and brothers Bryan, Travis, and Wendell. He was preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Louise, and his wives Julie and Debra.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on September 20, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. at the Magic Valley Arts Council, 195 River Vista Place, Twin Falls, Idaho. Light refreshments will be served, and there will be an opportunity for all to share fond memories.
Jerry will forever remain in our hearts and accompany us on every camping, fishing, and hunting trip.
