HEYBURN – Juan "Johnny" Gamboa, Jr., age 60, of Heyburn, passed away Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, at University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, with his wife by his side holding his hand when he took his last breath.

Johnny was born August 17, 1963, in Denver, Colorado, to Juan Gamboa, Sr. and Augustina Villar. He grew up in Kanorado, Kansas, with ten siblings: Tina (Randy), Patty (Bob), Bessie, Albert, Margie (Brian), Rosie (Greg), Eric (Nicole), Monica (Ruben), Tisha (SL), and Ismoe.

Johnny moved to Texas in his early years where he learned lineman work and eventually became a foreman for his own crew. Johnny joined the U.S. National Guard for eight years and was honorably discharged in 1997.

He moved to the Mini-Cassia area where he worked for Schaeffer Farms, Dalry Electric, City of Rupert, and East End Electric where he was an asset for 28 years. Johnny became a licensed Electrician. He also loved horses and working with them.

In 2000, Johnny joined Brother Speed Motorcycle Club (BSMC), and was one of the founding members of the Burley Chapter. He worked hard for over 24 years to be an exceptional member and brother. He had a passion for riding with his brothers and wife.

Johnny was married a few times and from one of these unions his son, Gabriel (Becky), was born; and his grandchildren, Giovanni and Mila. He was also a stepfather to Robbie, which gained Johnny his grandchildren, Jayden, Kayla, and Kaitlyn; and stepfather to Jenna, which gained him grandchildren, Jessi, Kaisley, and Jeryn.

In 2004, Johnny met his soulmate and on July 5, 2008, he married Kellie Marie Thiele, who brought to this union her son, Royal. Their marriage was officiated by club brother, Michael Bird.

Johnny loved spending time with his family and friends and if anyone could put a spark in his eye it was his granddaughter, Bethanie. Johnny had an exceptional sense of humor, and loved to make people smile and laugh. He always had stories to tell and would talk to you for endless hours. Johnny was a man of true integrity, and he always had a way of looking at things and putting them into perspective.

Johnny was a unique, kind, and wonderful man whose impact will be forever missed by his family and friends. He was a selfless man who always wanted to make sure you had what you needed. It was an honor to know Johnny and he will be truly missed. The loving legacy he left behind will be treasured forever.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Juan Gamboa, Sr.; and infant siblings: Eracilio and Eletecia.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 East 16th Street, in Burley, with Pastor TJ Jackson officiating. Military rites will be provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Group.
