Richard Guerino Obituary

Richard Guy Guerino, 63, of Hermitage, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in his home. Mr. Guerino was born on November 3, 1960, in Sharon, a son of the late Guy and Adeline (Mercurio) Guerino. He attended the former Our Lady of Fatima Parochial Grade School and was a 1978 graduate of Kennedy Christian High School. Richard was employed for more than 45 years at UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell, where he was the linen supervisor. In addition to working at the hospital, he worked many years as a florist at Kraynak's and in various capacities at St. John XXIII Home, both in Hermitage. Richard was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell. He had a deep love for his church, singing in the choir and volunteering for their events. He was loved by many and was the very best brother, uncle and great-uncle. Richard cherished time spent with his family and friends, especially his nephews, who were the center of his world. He also enjoyed gambling on horses and finding humor in life. He is survived by a sister, Gina Kirk, Farrell; two nephews, Brandon Kirk and his wife Nicole, and Brett Kirk and his girlfriend Valor Haggerty; and his great-nephew, Giovanni Kirk. Calling hour will be 10 am until the time of the service on Friday (06/07/2024) in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, in the church, with Rev. Glenn Whitman, as celebrant. Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.

Ricky was the BEST neighbor ANY body could ask for, best friend anybody could ask for. I will miss watching for you come home form work or were ever you were because I always need to tell you something . I don't think there was a day since I moved next door that I didn't feel the need to come greet you at the drive way to talk. I will miss our talks on the front porch. I will miss sharing our eating habits together we loved all the same food lol. I will miss our Sunday morning yard work with the Italian music coming from the garage, even in the winter as soon as I seen you shoveling the driveway you know I had to come out to see you! . I will MISS you period! It will be Very hard not to see your face when I look out the window now! love you Ricky!

When I worked in housekeeping at the hospital, I gravitated toward Ricky. He was such a sweetheart and I admired his work ethic. He really made my day whenever I caught him on our floor delivering linen. He was definitely a special soul....
