Boardman – Roseann (Amicone) Hackett, 83, of Boardman, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Sunday morning, June 30, 2024, at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center.
She was born November 23, 1940, in Youngstown, the daughter of Charles and Julia Amicone and was a lifelong area resident.
Roseann was a proud 1958 graduate of East High School being a "Golden Bear".
She married the love of her life Ronald "Ron" N. Hackett on October 18, 1964, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, and they spent over 51 years of marriage until his passing December 7, 2015.
Roseann was a proud homemaker along with being an excellent cook and baker. Her family will miss all her wonderful dishes, especially her famous spaghetti sauce, meatballs and Christmas cookies. Roseann later would become head bookkeeper at Orthodontic Associates until her retirement.
Roseann was a longtime and devoted member of St. Dominic Church where she did volunteer work and helped count the weekly collections.
"Ro" had many passions throughout her life. She enjoyed playing cards, taking trips to Mountaineer Casino to play the slots and attending weekly Friday night couples dinners with friends.
Roseann leaves behind to hold onto her memories her beloved children Mark Hackett of Boardman and Renee Liberato of Devon, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren Nikolas Hackett, Massimo, Giada and Lucca Liberato; and two sisters Diane (Tony) Agnesi and Angie (Tom) McDuffee, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Roseann was preceded in death by her brothers Gaetano and Charles Amicone.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 8:30 am until 9:25 am at Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
There will be a prayer service held on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Dominic Church, 77 E Lucius Ave., Youngstown.
Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
Roseann's family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff of St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center for all the care and respect shown to her over the last couple years.
