Thomas Chaya Obituary

Thomas Edward Chaya, 85, of Sharon, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 23, 2025, in UPMC Shenango Valley Hospital. Mr. Chaya was born September 22, 1939, in Hazelton, PA, a son of the late Edward and Mary (Horvath) Chaya. Tom retired as a carpenter from Wheatland Tube after 30 years of employment. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Sharpsville. Tom is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Dorothy Nasser. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Thomas J. Chaya, and his wife, Ronda; a daughter, Mary Hawthorne, and her husband, Clyde; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Urbano; and two brothers, Edward and Robert "Henry." The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the American Heart Association, at www.Heart.org. In keeping with Tom's wishes, all services will be held privately.
