Thomas Moorehead Obituary
Thomas A. Moorehead age 58 of Newton Falls passed away suddenly due to complications of hip surgery on Monday Nov. 25, 2024 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. He was born on Jan. 24, 1966 in Warren, OH the son of the late John W. Moorehead and Patricia A. (Holko) Moorehead. Tom has lived in Newton Falls all of his life, and graduated from Newton Falls High School in the Class of 1984. He then attended the Culinary Institute of America in New York and graduated in 1986. Tom married the love of his life, Rebecca Lynn Held on June 1, 2014 and they enjoyed the past 10 years of marriage together. He worked as an Industrial Salesman for Brenner Industrial Sales & Supply in Youngstown for the last 25 years. Tom was a member of the Newton Falls Amvets Post #112 and the Newton Falls VFW Post #3332. He held the position of Mayor of Newton Falls from January 2004 to December 2007 and served on City Council from January 2008 to November 2009. He enjoyed golfing, cooking, 4th of July parties, his family & friends, the Ohio State Buckeye Football, and vacationing with his family in Longboat Key, FL. Tom is preceded in death by only his parents John & Patricia Moorehead.
He is survived by: his loving wife: Rebecca L. Moorehead of Newton Falls, 1 daughter: Tiffanie Mohan & Dylan Derry of Newton Falls, 1 son: Christopher & Jessica Mohan of Newton Falls, 2 sisters: Lori & John Klatt of Aurora, IL, Ann & Greg Jones of Lake Forest, IL, 1 granddaughter: his beloved Addalyn who he spent endless hours reading books with and playing Barbies.
Tom's wishes were to be cremated. The family will receive friends for calling hours at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 5:00- 8:00pm. Donations can be made in Tom's name to the Newton Falls Amvets Post #112, 37 West Broad St. Newton Falls, OH 44444.
