Steven Sherbourne Obituary

Steven Glenn Sherbourne

Steven Glenn Sherbourne passed away age 47 on the 5th
September 2009 at his home. Steven was born on the 25th April 1962 in Castro Valley, Calif. He was the firstborn son of his proud parents, Lynn and Sharon Sherbourne. Steve and his family moved to Gold Hill, Ore., in 1974. He excelled in sports and played defense back for Crater High football team. At first, Steve would often say he felt like John Boy Walton, but soon grew to love living in the countryside by the river. Steve, his brother, Bruce and sister, Cheryl, shared many happy and fun times together. This is where Steve
developed his true passion for fishing.
After university, Steve moved to Huntington Beach, Calif., where he pursued his career in Architecture. He worked for a large architectural firm and of course wind surfed in his
freetime. He returned to Oregon after five years and met his wife and soulmate, Michelle, in 1989. They married on the 19th January 1991 in Prestatyn Wales, UK and had two
beautiful children, James, age 18 and Hannah, age 16. Steve gave so much time to his family and loved and adored them all.
Steve was an amazing artist and Architect. He was excellent with airbrushing, painting, photography and was the founder of Pacific Pioneer Design Group. Steve designed many
houses and commercial buildings all over the valley. He was part owner in his last project The European Touch Day Spa.
Steve was a competitive water skier, loved to windsurf,
enjoyed camping, traveling overseas and tropical cruises, he was an avid sportsman. He loved nature, was kind to the smallest animal, grew a vegetable garden and was an
excellent healthy gourmet cook. He listened to a wide
variety of fabulous music. Watching movies were shared with his wife and children in the evenings. His favorite being Titanic, then Dances with Wolves and Gran Torino. Steve's passion was fishing on the beautiful Rogue River, often bringing home huge salmon and steelhead. His fishing
experiences were shared with family and friends from Shady Cove to Gold Beach and many in between. Steve had a
generous, kind soul with a beautiful free spirit and he did not plan to leave this world. We will miss you.
Steve is survived by his wife, Michelle Sherbourne;
two children, James and Hannah Sherbourne;
father, Lynn Sherbourne; mother, Sharon Thornton; brother, Bruce Sherbourne; and sister, Cheryl Green.
A memorial to celebrate Steve's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. the 19th September 2009 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2617 East Barnett Rd.For your memory Steve's favorite plant was the orchid.
All Family and friends are welcome.

Although I do not know Steve, I do remember the Sherbourne family. We will not know, until we meet God, why He takes people at such an early age. Condolences from myself and my Mother and Father, Chuck and Suzie Frisk.

To all of my extended 'west coast' family. To have discovered you after so many years was a blessing. To meet you all was a joy. I only wish I could have had more shared memories with Steve than I did. I would love to be there to give you warm hugs in person, but I am there in spirit. I have prayed many prayers of comfort for you.
I love you all,

Our sincere sympathy goes out to you, and the entire family. The sting of death of a loved one who is taken too soon (in our eyes) is difficult to endure. May your relationship with our Lord and Savior be of comfort during this very difficult time for all of you. Our hearts go out to you. With our love and prayers.

We first met Steve in the early 90's when our families shared times camping at Lake Shasta. Eric and Steve would take their son's, Dylan and James, down to the Lake a day ahead to set up camp. These are some of the best times we had in the early years of our children. Thank you Steve, Michelle, James and Hannah for sharing your time with us in the early days of our children. Most recently we have shared our Christmas Eve's in our home with the Sherbournes. Steve was always the first to arrive and the last to leave. We will miss you Steve and will always save a moment to remember you during our visits to the Lake and during our Christmas Eve gatherings.

I am deeply sadned to hear of your loss. Steves passing brings back many emotions that my family felt all too recent,when my brother Greg left this world entirely too early.
Bruce Leslie and Sharon, I wish I could be there to support you and your family in this time, as you all were so graciously there for my loved ones.
Tom and I are living in Tennesee now, and unfortunately I will not beable to attend his service.
Although I had not spoken with Steve in years. We had some fun times that I will always cherish. He enjoyed life and always made me laugh.
My deepest sympathies to his wife and children. May God be with you and allow your hearts to heal quickly.
