Taylor Cavanaugh Obituary

Taylor Cole Cavanaugh
(Tay, T-Man, Tatterman)

Taylor Cole Cavanaugh, 16, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2008, in White City.

He was born November 22, 1991, to parents Kevin Cavanaugh, and Michelle Lynn Walter.

Taylor attended the Eagle Point High School in the STEPS Program through his freshman year.

Taylor was loved by all. All who knew Tay knew he loved to watch TV The Power Rangers was his favorite. He always said when he grew up he was going to be the gold Power Ranger. He loved to play video games, to go the Rogue Valley Mall, and Toys-R-Us. He loved to be around people. He wanted you to just sit with him and read to him or watch TV with him. He loved the beach and Disneyland, and always wanted to go to hotels, just to get out and have fun.

God gave us our very special Tay, our Angel from above and now he is with our Father in heaven. Taylor was born in Medford, and lived in White City with his parents, and brother Kyle, and Sister Lexie.

We want to thank all who helped care for and donate all the special needs Taylor needed throughout his life. Thank you.

He is survived by his parents; brother, Kyle Cavanaugh (10); and sister, Lexie Cavanaugh (6).

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jeannie L. Walter; paternal great-grandfather, Arthur Fawcett; paternal grandfather, Tom Cavanaugh; and maternal grandfather, Vern Hopper.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Crippled Childrens Hospital in Taylors name.

The memorial service will be held and followed by a graveside on Friday, February 22, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Perl Funeral Home - Siskiyou Memorial Park.

I love Taylor so much and miss him more than anything! It hurts so bad tht I didn't get a chance to say good bye, but I know he's in a better place and no longer in pain. TayMan you were such an amazing cousin and always made me smiling, I remeber when we were little and I used to roll around on the floor with you, and how you used to always tell people all your jokes to make them laugh. Everytime someone would come to visit you, you would want them to come "sit sit sit" you love to be with people.
I love and miss my TayMan soo much!!

I feel very fortunate to have met Taylor and to be part of his family. He sure loved his movies and videos. I am glad that I had the opportunity to visit Taylor on Christmas and to spend his favorite holiday with him. One recent memory I have is when we gave him a toy power ranger. It was tied into the box that it came in. We tried to take the power ranger out of the box for him, but he didn't want it taken out of the box! He liked it just the way it was. Taylor I know you are up in heaven, and we will see you again soon. Michelle and family you are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Love Greg & Kristin.

Tay you're a wonderful boy that I loved dearly. I'll never forget the 1st time the family went to Driftwood shore's and Uncle Paul carried you down to play in the sand with the other kids. Boy did you have fun. And I remember how you surprised me one day while watching TV and you read the titles to me. They always said you could read before you could talk and you proved them correct. I will miss you a lot but I know you are in Gigi's arms. Give her my love.

My tears flow freely as his light has left this earth. Taylor joined our "family" classroom when he was five. He was a child with a great sense of humor, rarely quiet, always social.
His family was a source of love and support for our classroom for 8 years. My heart breaks for your loss~you are not alone. Know that you are surrounded by love and light through out this difficult time.

I have such wonderful memories of Taylor. I remember reading him books when I used to sub in his classroom and how much he loved them, totally engrossed. He could be a little pest at times and whiz that wheelchair around the classroom, getting into things. He didn't let his physical disability hold him back.
Although Taylor didn't live a long live, I really think he truly lived life as he wanted, fulfilling each moment.
I think he added a spark of life that touched the hearts of many people, and I know I will miss him.

Taylor became like a son to me in the summer of 2007. He was strong willed and demanding. I knew that he would have been a powerful force, for lack of better words, if he could have walked and talked. I held a vigil for him for the six months he lived with us until he passed away and I miss him greatly. I remember the disagreements Taylor and I shared and the times of deep love. Taylor could tell me when he was angry and happy just by looking at me. God made me very sensitive to his soul. I am greatful that God chose me to be with him during this time, although all too short, he will remain in my memories. All my sympathy goes out to ALL that cared and loved Taylor. A child is not a possession; but an entrusted soul to give wings.

I remember being with Taylor the day he came into our lives and blessed us all. He was such a fighter then. Taylor fought his entire 16 years with us. To be around him you would never have known he was hurting or struggling. Every day he was happy and thrilled with life. He was such a GREAT soul. He loved everyone. We all have so many good memories of Taylor and I know he has touched us all. He made you think about how valuable life is. I will really miss you Tay-Bug but I will see you again and you'll be running, singing, and playing. I also want you to know, Tay, you have not only taught me a lot about life, you taught my kids that just because somebody looks or acts different than you, they are still a great and loving kid on the inside.

I love you!!
