Anna Ruth Final
1935 - 2016
BELGRADE - Anna Ruth Final, 80, died on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Long Term Care at Glenridge, in the presence of loving family. She was born at home in Hallowell on Aug. 2, 1935, the daughter of Roland and Ruth (Holmes) Littlefield.
Anna spent her childhood years in Hallowell, where she formed many lasting friendships. She is a graduate of Hall Dale High School. Over the years she worked at various jobs including Hallowell Shoe and the A&P. Given her passion for "all things jewelry," she ran "Sweetwater Boutique," a jewelry shop from her home on Water Street in Hallowell. She was known for her flair with fashion and was always classically dressed.
She will be remembered for her kindness and thoughtful, caring ways. She held her grandchildren close in heart. It was her joy to ensure that holidays had a special touch for family and friends. Anna's loving kindness was also reflected in her dedicated care of her mother, Ruth Littlefield, as well as Marjorie LaPlante. She enjoyed spending special time with her many beloved pets over the years: Suzie, Sam, Angel, Diamond, Dakota, and Kota.
She was predeceased by her parents; sister-in-law Judith Littlefield; best friends Evelyn Bey and Gloria Knox; as well as her special niece Kellie Knox. Anna is survived by her partner-in-life, Walter G. LaPlante; a brother Walter T. Littlefield and his wife Pam; a son Norman E. Final, stepchildren Todd C. LaPlante and his wife Kathy, Terry W. LaPlante and his wife Joyce, Tina R. Keech and her partner Roy Wing; Diane (Final) Morrill and her husband Jamie, and Donna LaPlante; grandchildren Blair Anna Final, Tyler and Brooke Beck, Christopher and Jordan LaPlante, Colby and Halee LaPlante; as well as several nieces, nephews; and a great-grandchild Summer E. LaPlante.
A "Celebration of Life" for Anna will be announced at a later date. The family would like to express gratitude to the wonderful, caring staff at Glenridge.
