CHRISTOPHER HASKELL Obituary

PERRYVILLE, Ky. -- Christopher W. Haskell, 36, of Perryville, Ky., formerly of Augusta, Maine, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at his home.

He was born in Augusta on Oct. 5, 1975, the son of Timothy and Peggy (Humphrey) Haskell.

Chris graduated from Cony High School in 1994, where he played football and lacrosse. He had worked for N.R.F. Distributors in Augusta before moving to Kentucky in 2010. Chris was a truly gifted artist who loved to draw. His art work was phenomenal. He loved to sing along while listening to music, and play air guitar. Chris loved fishing and watching the N.Y. Yankees play baseball with his Dad. He also played guitar and loved to play Frisbee golf. Chris especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his parents, Timothy and Peggy Haskell, of Augusta; his fiancé, Melayne Vernon,of Perryville, and her son, Matthew; a sister, Stacy Haskell, and her fiance, Jason Gray, of Augusta, and their children who Chris loved very much, Chris's "Lil Man"Caleb and Neveah; also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St., Augusta.

Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, where memories, condolences, photos and videos may be shred with the family on the obituary page of the website at www.khrfuneralhomes.com.

Growing up I played baseball and lacrosse with Chris. He was always a genuine guy and easy to get along with. I was very saddened to hear that Chris was leaving behind his children. I'm sure he was a great father. I will pray for his family that they will be strong through this very trying time.

I remember Chris fondly. I esp. remember us on the bus ride home, he always made me laugh. Hadn't seen Chris in a long time but he is someone I never would forget! May your memories help bring you peace and comfortable at such a trying time. Rest in Peace Chris...

Chris you always had a way of making me ( your little cousin laugh) and I always enjoyed looking at your drawings growing up ! And I also remember you playing the guitar for me one year at Christmas or Thanksgiving . I wish you had gotten a chance to meet Ewa !! I also I wish I was in Maine today to say good bye and give Aunt Peggy,Stacy and Mel a big hug. I am so glad we staied in touch on FB !!!
