DAVID HAMLIN Obituary
He was born on Jan. 4, 1943, at Gardiner General Hospital, a son of Philip and Ava Adams Hamlin, of West Gardiner.
He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Francis Hopkins; a brother-in-law, Galen Davis; and a grandchild, Adam Hamlin.
He is survived by the most loving wife a man could ask for, Isla Taylor Hamlin, of Gardiner; five children, David E. Hamlin, of West Gardiner, Donald R. Hamlin and his companion, Rhonda Blais, of Pittston, Darren Hamlin, of Augusta, Tina Lamoreau and her companion, Roger Whitten, of East Winthrop, and John Lamoreau and his wife, Kelly, of Windsor; a sister, Dorothy Davis, of Randolph; grandchildren Darrah and Cole Hamlin, of Bowdoinham, Samantha and Jacob Lamoreau, of Windsor, Sarah and Josh Hamlin, of West Gardiner, Hunter Hamlin, of Winthrop, Joey Blais, of West Gardiner, and Patrick Eaton, of Augusta.
Honorably discharged from Army National Guard 156 Heavy Equipment Maintenance of Augusta, David was a graduate of Gardiner High School in 1961. He had worked at Walker's Lumber in Gardiner while attending high school. After high school, he worked at Hopkins Plumbing in Gardiner for six years then Central Maine Power Co. in Augusta, retiring in 1995, and returned to CMP in 1997, retiring again in 2005 for a total of 42 years.
David loved his camera, especially taking photos of nature. He had many many friends up north and down south. He loved his weekends and vacations with his wife at their summer place in Wells. He enjoyed summer barbecues and gatherings with his family. Also how he enjoyed trying out different recipes and having the family test them out.
There will be a celebration of life from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the Gardiner Lion's Club. Pot luck dishes welcome.
Those who attend are asked to come as you are; please no need to be formal.
Honorary pallbearers are his five children and Roger Whitten. Burial will take place at the family lot in Litchfield Plains Cemetery at a later date.

Isla, I am so very sorry for your loss of David. I never did meet him but I feel as though I did, listening to Alexis speak of him and also Erin. Isla and Family I am so sorry to hear of Davids passing...When I first bought my trailer in Wells David and Isla took me under their wing and would take me on long rides showing me all the points of interest in the area...He was an amazing and generous person...I will miss all his stories around the campfire...R.I.P My Dear Friend David. Love & Miss You!!

Sydney and I were so sad to hear of David's passing. He was a wonderful man. We always enjoyed visiting with him when daycare was over. I smile whenever I think of his laugh. He was always so happy. You all are in our thoughts.

Isla and family I am so sorry to hear of David's passing. Isla you and David were like parents to my daughters when they were in your daycare for 7-8 yrs. Had it not been for the both of you life would of been more of a struggle for me and my children as a single parent. For this you and David have left a mark in our life forever.
