BERNIE. I sincerely apologize for not haven responded long ago but I want to let you know that you and your mother, father and grandmother were the kindest most gentle people I had ever known. I saw your mother several times on the boat when I'd go to the island to see my mother and always asked how you were. I now live in Cape Elizabeth and would love to hear from you if you still go to your home on Peaks Island .Hopefully you will get this phone number sometime in the near future. (207) 230-9763 (cell). Take care. p.s. I would not have been the same person growing up if I had not known you and your family.

Be Free ;)

Sylvia was (and is) my grandmother. Although I did not know her as well as I would have liked, I had some wonderful experiences of her. My favorite "Sylvia-ism" was "Be Free." I will take that with me wherever I go. Thank you, Grandma. Thank you for being free. Love, Carolyn

Sylvia was quick to bake a casserole, or otherwise help a person in need. She lived her life for others. And she never complained of Johnny's drums!

The Many Residents Of Great Chebeague Island, Casco Bay...Honor & Remember A Great Lady.....Eternal Peace Dear Sylvia....

Sylvia and my mother were close friends on Peaks Island during the 1940's when they were both young mothers. Both she and my mother loved their mid-morning coffee and would get together at Sylvia's and sip a cup while their toddlers had what today would be called a play date.

Sylvia was loved by all and will be missed.
