Teresa D'Arrigo Obituary

Teresa Helen D'Arrigo, 96
PORTLAND - Teresa Helen D'Arrigo, 96, passed away peacefully on Aug. 11, 2016. She was born on Dec. 2, 1919, in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Dominic and Saveria (Lena) Long.
Teresa grew up in the Boston area and graduated from Medford High School in 1937. On July 14, 1940, she married the love of her life, Earnest J. D'Arrigo; they spent 58 wonderful years together. In 1979, she moved to Maine where she was a beloved Nanny.
Teresa enjoyed the company of her friends and family while cooking her famous Italian specialties. Some of her family's favorites were stuffed breads, pizzelles, and marinated mushrooms. She also was a diehard Red Sox fan, a fierce competitor on a Scrabble board, and always had the answer to the crossword puzzles. Most of all, Teresa enjoyed shopping sprees and marathon lunches with her daughters, Jennie and Marie.
Teresa is survived by her daughters, Jennie M. Largey and her husband John of Massachusetts, and Marie A. D'Arrigo-Haddad of Maine; her grandchildren, Michael Haddad of Wisconsin, Richard Haddad of New Hampshire, John Haddad of Maine, Sam Haddad of Texas, Chris Haddad of Maine, Louise Largey of Massachusetts, John P. Largey III of Massachusetts, Ernest Largey of Massachusetts, Teresa Burgess of Massachusetts, and Jennifer Orelle of Massachusetts; 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; as well as dear friends Dr. Stephen Blattner and Dr. Francine Blattner and their children Zachary and Ariel.
She was predeceased by her husband Ernie in 1998.
At Teresa's request, a private graveside service will be held at a later date. To share memories and condolences with the family, please go to: www.athutchins.com
