Norman Hugg Obituary

Coach Norman B. Hugg, age 79 of Hot Springs, Arkansas, formerly of Blevins, AR passed away, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in Hot Springs. Coach Hugg was born in Blevins, Arkansas on June 7, 1938 to Dallas Boyce O'Neal Hugg and Chole Brooks Hugg. Coach was a member of Bells Chapel of the Nazarene in Blevins. Coach Hugg had retired from the Arkansas Public School System as a teacher, basketball coach and counselor. His coaching career took him to Okolona, Spring Hill, Prattsville, Poyen, Blevins and Carthage, where he won a State Basketball Championship while coaching in Carthage, Arkansas. Coach Hugg is preceded in death by his parents.
His survivors include his devoted wife of 58 years, Emogene McGalliard Hugg of Hot Springs, two daughters Norma Jean Hugg Scott of Prattsville, AR, her son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Cassidy Michaela Jane Sullins and Darlene Angela Hugg McCauley husband Jimmy of Poyen, AR, two brothers Donald Hugg, wife Neysa of Powderly, TX and Larry Dean Hugg of Blevins, two sisters Carolyn Hines, husband Eddie of Little Rock, AR and Janice Salisbury, husband Leslie of Blevins, two grandchildren Terrie Nicole Samples, husband Donnie and Patrisha Dockery of Hot Springs, four great-grandchildren Cody Nathaniel Samples, Bryce Hunter Samples, Elizabeth Grace Samples and Ivy Christian Dockery.
The Hugg Family ask that in lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Poyen Athletics Schools System in Poyen, Arkansas.
Visitation 6:00 to 8:00pm on Friday, February 23, 2018 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home 1001 S. Main Hope, AR.
Funeral service, 1:00pm on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Yarberry and Rev. Wayne Bell officiating. Burial will be in Marlbrook Cemetery in Blevins with military funeral honors. Arrangements are with BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Eddie BRAZZEL, Director.
