Nancy Ann (Fortin) Kuczynski
January 31, 1940 - April 27, 2024
Nancy Ann (Fortin) Kuczynski, age 84, went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 27, 2024 with her family by her side.
Nancy was born in Manistee at home on January 31, 1940 to Joseph L. and Edith F. (Picardat) Fortin. She attended Woodrow Wilson Elementary, Guardian Angels, and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1957. In 1959, she married Robert J. Kuczynski and together they raised 3 children, Stephen, Lori, and Debbie.
At age 12, her first job was babysitting. Later, she went on to work many jobs at Holsum Bakery, JC Penney's, Manistee Quality Discount Store, Security Bank, Manistee Auto, and finally Manistee Abstract & Title Company until her retirement. Her and her husband also owned and operated the Northside Bakery. Nancy loved spending time with her family and - friends, watching Hallmark Channel movies, and reading.
Nancy is survived by her children, Stephen (Debra) Kuczynski of Edmore, Lori Hall of Bear Lake, and Debbie Yonkman of Cadillac. She is also survived by her grandchildren Keith (Amanda) Kuczynski, Ludington, Michael Kuczynski, Ludington, Robert (Amber) Yonkman, Cadillac, Aaron (Brian Homiak) Yonkman, Chicago, Shaine Kuczynski, Okemos, Brittany Hall, Bear Lake, Jesse Kuczynski, Edmore, and Ryan (Olivia) Kuczynski, Mecosta, by great-grandchildren Peyton and Jaxson Yonkman, Cadillac, Lucas Kuczynski, Ludington, Karter and Brinleigh Kuczynski, Mecosta, and Hudson Wolf, Mecosta.
She is also survived by sister-in-law Dorothy Lata, and brother and sister-in law Richard and Caroline Kuczynski, brothers and sisters-in-law Kenneth (Ann) Fortin, Manistee, James (Delores McMurty) Fortin, Houghton Lake, Joseph Fortin, Kent, Robert (Ida Wheeler) Fortin, Blanchard, sisters and brothers-in-law Mary Jo (Chris) Rasmusson, Stanton, Rose Davis and Julie (Jon) Brecheisen of Stanton & Lebanon.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Abraham and Alice Picardat, her parents Joseph and Edith Fortin, infant grandson Kevin W. Hall Jr., sister and brother-in-law Marjorie (Steve) Kaminski, brothers William Sr, ("Bill") Fortin, Jerome ("Jerry") Fortin, Louis ("Louie") Fortin, sister-in-law Sandra Fortin, and father and mother-in-law Robert ("Roddy") & Irene Kuczynski, brother-in-law Joe Lata, sister and brother-in-law Barabra & Dennis Hughes, and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and funeral services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee, Michigan, 12:00 noon, with Reverend Bradley Nursey officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Manistee.
The family will receive friends, at the funeral home on Monday morning, beginning at 10:30 a.m. up until time of service at noon.
The Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements.
