Dear Brittsan Family,

As a fellow teacher at Don Timoteo and Vallecito Schools,
I had the greatest respect and appreciation for Gerri as a master teacher/vice principal and treasured her friendship for more than 25 years. Because of her personality and structure as an expert first grade teacher, she gifted hundreds of students with an exceptional foundation.

This poem fits Gerri so well.

Afterglow

I'd like the memory of me
To be a happy one,
I'd like to leave an afterglow
Of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
Whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
And bright and sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who
Grieve, to dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave
When life is done.

So sorry about your mom.
I work at Senior Access, where she attended a few years ago.

I wish I had realized at that time, but she was also my teacher at don timoteo in Terra Linda in 1967; I would have chatted with her about it.

My condolences to the family.
