MAYSVILLE – Wanda Lee Morton, 87, of Maysville, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 11, 2025.
Born in Maysville on Sept. 3, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Charles Lee and Nannie Whaley Jones.
Mrs. Morton was employed with the City of Maysville for nearly thirty years, where she first began her career as a meter maid alongside her dear friend, Carol Y. Bennett. She spent her last twenty years as a dispatcher with the Maysville Police Department serving the community with professionalism and dedication.
Wanda leaves behind her eight loving children, Dale C. Morton, Lanny P. Morton, Yolanda T. Morton all of Maysville; Burjetta J. Greene, Sun S. Morton, Avis E. Mims all of Cincinnati; Selena N. Morton of Paramount, CA and Jed P. (Veronica) of Brentwood, Tenn.; eleven beloved grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; three nephews, one great grand-pup, Reuben and many dear cousins and friends close to her.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly sixty years, George William Morton; her brother, Charles G. Jones and one grandson, Inden P. Greene.
Funeral services for Wanda Lee Morton will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home on Saturday, April 19, 2025, with Pastor Harry Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service.
