Alice K. Snyder Wilson
Alice Katharine Snyder Wilson of Arbor Glen, Bridgewater, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2006, at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, New Jersey. She was in her 89th year. Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of the late Morris G. and Elsie Snyder of Bethlehem. Mrs. Wilsons husband of 64 years, Robert A. Wilson, passed away last February. Her parents and generational relatives passed away years ago. Mrs. Wilsons immediate surviving family includes two children, C. Richard Wilson of Emmaus and Constance A. Wilson of Great Cacapon, West Virginia. Family members were with her at the time of her death. Mrs. Wilson had two grandchildren, Jennifer Wilson Shaver of Emmaus and Douglas A. Wilson of Houston, Texas, and two great-grandchildren, Jonathan M. Shaver and Matthew D. Shaver. Before Arbor Glen, Mrs. Wilson resided for many years in Cranford, New Jersey, where she was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Wilson was a graduate of Moravian College. While at Moravian College, she met her husband, who graduated from Lehigh University. Alice and Bob were married in 1941 and lived for a time in Charleston, West Virginia, until Mr. Wilson entered the Navy and served in the Pacific during World War II. After the war, the Wilsons moved to Cranford, New Jersey, whee Mr. Wilson was employed as a project engineer with ExxonMobil Corporation. In Cranford, Mrs. Wilson was a founder with other contemporaries of Cranes Ford gardeners, a garden club now of longstanding. Mrs. Wilson is an expert in daffodil horticulture. Mrs. Wilson was active in her church, youth employment activity and other civic and social activities. As a loving mother, she raised her children in Cranford. Services: A private memorial service for the family will be held at Moravian College. Mrs. Wilson will be buried with her husband at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, New Jersey. Arrangements, Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, Somerville. Contributions: Mrs. Wilson cared for young people and supported Moravian College.
